Al-Baseera Institute for Arabic Language and Shari'ah was founded in the 1980s by the Islamic Forum Europe and the East London Mosque. It specialises in quality teaching of the Arabic Language across a range of levels to suit individual needs and abilities. It also offers courses in Ajromiah, Tajweed, Qur'an studies, Hadith and Shari'ah. Many of the students have benefited from Al-Baseera's courses over the years, with many successfully continuing into higher studies and others qualified as Arabic and Tajweed teachers.    At Al-Baseera Institute the student will learn the Arabic language through classes designed to give an understanding of Arabic in Arabic. The courses are available to both brothers and sisters at different levels in fully segregated facilities. Brothers are only taught by male teachers and sisters' classes taught separately by sister teachers. All classes take place at the East London Mosque and the London Muslim Centre.
